Very aesthetic and quaint. The pastries were beautifully made and delicious, not overly sweet. They brought the desserts and coffee to our table which was nice. Would recommend.

Dulce Cafe is one of my new favorite coffee shops in Durham. Located in a centrally located shopping plaza with plenty of free parking, this coffee shop offers a variety of coffee drinks and delicious pastries. Staff is professional and friendly and all common areas are clean and comfortable. There are inside and outisde tables to choose from. I came for the forst time amd ordered a latte with this mushroom shaped pastry made put of jelly, almond and pistacho. I mean, it was simply WOW!! My taste buds appreciated the treat. 100% recommended.

Carlos, a masterful dessert artist, creates a wide variety of gorgeous and mouth watering temptations. If you want to recapture the wonderment of a child, stand in front of the cake display. Pick anything; you can't go wrong. They have several gluten-free options that I absolutely love (e.g. coconut cake) even though I have no problem with gluten. The carrot cake is so moist and rich. If you like eclairs, you may have to try all of the variations (e.g. pistachio). I have yet to find a pastry shop to compare. Their breakfast options include a parfait with home-made granola or a breakfast burrito with egg and chorizo or a croissant, egg, cheese, avocado and bacon. Great espresso as well. People travel to Dulce from across town, testament to the loyalty of their customers. There is outdoor dining in a covered walkway - a favorite spot for us. I have brought many people to Dulce because I enjoy seeing their reaction to the pastry case.

Very nice place to go for breakfast or branch, they have sandwiches, salads and very good looking cakes.

This is my new favorite spot to "work from home" on Fridays. They actually serve you, which is lovely, when it's your job to take care of others in everyday life. The large "to stay" coffee mug is a proper large, and they bring a darling little porcelain pitcher with your milk. Their breakfast sandwiches are yummy and large--I had the brioche with egg and cheese over two meals. The desserts are the prettiest desserts I have ever seen, and they are as delicious as they look! I have enjoyed the pear and the blueberry lemon tart. They are not overly sweet and have a great mixture of textures.

I love Dulce Cafe! The pastries are always so delicious, and the variety will satisfy any craving. You can tell everything is made fresh and with such culinary expertise. Their lattes are delicious too. There's a reason why this place is busy most hours of the day. Highly recommend!

The bakery case is phenomenal and the place smells amazing. An inviting atmosphere and so many incredible pastries to look at in the case leading up to the register. I got a coffee and it was hot and fresh. Sweet service and also kind patrons in line with me.

The pear is light, refreshing, and very beautifully composed. I recommend taking a scope from top down with the caramel on the side. It was lovely. The ambiance is a typical cafe with upbeat music. It's a great spot for a first date or a small friend gathering. My only critique on this establishment would be on the crust. I was opting for a firm, but chewable texture. The crust is a struggle to break by 3pm, and after tasting it, I can only compare it to chalk. I hate to say it, because the rest of the dessert was so pleasant. Perhaps I'll try again at opening time. Overall, this place certainly lives up to expectations for desserts with a beautiful presentation.

First, please let me note the quality of customer service, it was superb! When you're looking for a treat, I tell ya, there's so much to choose from. You have mini-cakes, gelato, éclairs, and so much more. Carrotopia: Carrot cake layer, pineapple mousse rum, and pineapple foam. Do not be fooled, this "little" slice of cake will feed two people. It is so rich, I would be impressed if one person finished it. They topped this off with a pineapple macaroon, I felt like it was a dessert w/in a dessert. A good one, at that. Chocolate hazelnut éclair: If you're a lover of hazelnut and chocolate, you'll love this. They successfully, were able to balance the two. You were able to taste the chocolate, just as much as you were able to taste the hazelnut. Chai Tea Latte (Iced) - NO, thank you! I don't know what went wrong, but it was awful. It could be, I'm so used to Starbucks, nothing can come close to what I'm used to. If I visit that area again, they will be one of my stops! Try it, I dare you!

Dulce has a great selection of sweets and food. My neighbor was raving about it and wanted me to come check it out with him, so I did. Dulce is a corner cafe that doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside is where you see what it has to offer. The front display case shows the featured sweets and you have the yellow menu to choose your main fare. They have alcohol if you want an afternoon drink. Otherwise, they have your coffee shop staples. There's plenty of seating inside and outside along the windows. My neighbor and I got a Cuban sandwich, a turkey panini, an iced coffee, an iced chai latte, and shared a mushroom-shaped cake called "the Fun Guy." Get the pun? The panini was done great. Toasted well, not burnt. The side salad was good. My neighbor's Cuban looked great too. The dessert was unique, and lived up to its name! Mary took care of us and overheard our conversation. We brought her into the dialogue. I'm glad we can make your day a bit brighter.
